I print astro photos. You know, photographs of astronomical subjects.

My name is RL Dietz. RL... staR-L, get it? I've been an amateur astronomer for over 15 years, a photographer and printer for almost 30. Heck, I even won an Astronomical Photo of the Year award from the Astronomical League in 1987.

I know how to make great looking astro prints from negatives that are seemingly void of information. Without giving away too many of my trade secrets, let me just say that I know that stars have color and the night sky is not black (except at most photo labs) and I print on high contrast "Ultra" photo paper.

While it's true that the best prints are made from negatives that have been exposed correctly, you'll be amazed at what I can do with negatives that are a little less than optimum.

Slide film makes great astro photographs, but prints from slides are more often than not just plain bad. I make custom internegatives from slides that are far superior to anything an automated process can produce. I can even make two exposures and sandwich the negatives together, capturing the full dynamic range of your slides.

Do you want to show your friends and astro buddies great prints of your late night efforts? Send those negs and slides to me!

Company Policies:
Bigger Is Better; Custom is Less and Cheaper by the Dozen. I think that says it all. Except --- I want to let you (the Astro Photographer) know that I am not open to the general public. In Spokane, WA, I print for a small group of local professional photographers and I make a good living charging the same prices as I have stated here. I am offering my services to another small group - Astro Photographers, because I have seen so many BAD prints over the years that I want serious ammeters astronomers to have the joy of seeing their hard work in its true colors.
